Egypt as a temporary succor

It seems there is a pattern for famine and relief from famine.

1. Abraham experienced famine in Canaan, he went to Egypt
2. Isaac experienced famine in Canaan too
3. During Jacobs time , there was famine in Canaan.

In all of these intestines, Egypt seems to be a ready made temporary succor for the patriarchs . All came briefly to Egypt for relief and went back to Canaan, except for Jacob that overstayed his welcome, due to the fact that he died there and wasn't able to command an early exit, like his predecessors.
