Christians can be confident that we will never die.

We will step from this life into eternal life.

Some denominations believe that when we die we remain in a "sleep state" until Jesus returns.

These two verses in 2 Corinthians clearly dispute that theory.

It is clear that the minute our physical body (home) dies, we go straight to be with the Lord. Our spirit and soul will dwell with Him until He returns, resurrects our dead bodies and transforms them into "glorified" bodies.

When we are "away" from this body, we are at "home" with the Lord.

The only time we are away from our body will be from the time our body dies until He returns.

When Jesus returns we will be in a body- a glorified body!

No matter if I am away from this body or in this body, I will be conscious of Jesus.
