No One Wants Braves Tickets

When my wife and I were dating she would periodically get the company tickets from her office for the Atlanta Braves. Many times these were last minute offers, usually the afternoon for that evening's game.  And these were good seats.... not luxury suite but about ten rows up from the baseline.  Prime territory to grab foul balls as we enjoyed the game.  They were almost always a four pack so we would try to get another couple of friends to go with us.  Now everyone has a defined pecking order of friends... we love all our friends but there are certain friends you want with you at MLB games.  We would go down our list of friends and believe it or not, routinely people would turn us down.  We would get the normal excuses, 'I have an exam to study for', or 'I already have another commitment, but I keep me in mind for next time'.  But we would also get some weird stuff like 'I have to wash my hair' or 'TV show X is on tonight'.  Keep in mind that this is before the advent of DVR technology that we all know and love.  My pre-wife and I would always be shocked at people's lack of interest with the offer.  Sometime we would even say 'We get a parking pass too so we don't even have to walk that far'.  Still it was more rejection than not.

That is a pretty weak analogy to for this passage... but I always consider my excuses when faced with an offer from God.  Is this a great opportunity that I am turning down to wash my hair or some other lame excuse?  How does God see my excuse?
