Welcome Home

I find it astonishing that 9 kings are mentioned here, and that Abram with his meager army of 318 servants are the victors, and their King is not mentioned. Let me mention His name! Jehovah is His name!
Abram had his own King, it was his God that led them Into victory!

Where did Abram muster the courage to go after his nephew? Especially with his 318 servants...not military men, but servants!
I believe Abram was prepared to die for his nephew! Thats how great his love was for him!
And was Lot really all that love-worthy?
Not in my point of view!

But he did it! He captured Lot, returned him
safely home with all His possessions!
Met by the High priest, King Melchizedek, who came to greet him and congratulate him! To bring out the bread and wine to celebrate, to say welcome home!

After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and his allied kings, the king of Sodom came out to greet him in the Valley of Shaveh, the King's Valley. Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine-he was priest of The High God - (Genesis 14:17, 18 MSG)

Abram was victorious! He had done what was needed! He rescued Lot ...Rescued him and brought him home!

Same as you and I...we were P.O.W's and needed rescuer! We got something better...a Saviour!

Jesus came for you and I, he came and brought us out of the enemies hands and into freedom! Willing to lose His life for us...
and.. well I'm just not all that love--worthy, you know?

And yet Jesus is Thee high priest!
Jesus, king of kings and lord of Lords, came for us, and now He stands by His door to greet us too, to congratulate us, to celebrate with us, to say. welcome home!
