This is a priest we're talking about not just acommon person so if he has to do all these things how much more would acommon person have to do just think about it we probably sin 40 times a day or even more weather it be jealousy cursing looking at someone wishing you had what they had anything small or big sin is sin so the people had to do all these things in order to be forgiven like I said weather it the big or small but by the blood of christ we are set free from that. all we have to do a confess and repent so be grateful that we have an amazing god who forgives our sins by the name of christ and his name alone

pray a thankful prayer for jesus christ in all his doings because if he never came down on earth we would have to go through the same process and believe me we would never have enough time for anything!
