God finishes what He starts....and does all with intentionality.

God is a finisher.
Even when we fall short in a task that He wants to accomplish, He finishes.

Moreover, the Lord your God will send the hornet among them until even the survivors who hide from you have perished. (Deuteronomy 7:20 NIV)

God paces Himself, so that we can handle the benefits of His work, and not be overcome by the 'side effects' of His blessings.

The Lord your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you. (Deuteronomy 7:22 NIV)

Hardships yield character

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. (Deuteronomy 8:3-5, 16 NIV)
