1. We cannot get our view of marriage from the world around us. (constantly changes)
2. God intended marriage to be permanent.
3. Sin is the great destroyer of marriage. (Genesis 3)- power play
4. A healthy marriage is rooted in God's love and forgiveness.

4 Views of Divorce and Remarriage:
- Permissible for any reason
- Under no circumstances
- Divorce for adultery (and abandonment), no remarriage
***- Divorce and remarriage only in the cases of adultery and abandonment

1 Corinthians 7:12 - Abandonment

Where the Bible allows divorce it assumes remarriage.

We should hold the biblical line on divorce and remarriage while not communicating that a divorcee has committed the unpardonable sin (love and serve divorcees)
