Self-confidence

In 1 Cor 10:12, it seems Paul is trying to say that that who THINKS he is standing firm, be careful not to fall. Apparently, it is not that "we who are standing firm should be careful not to fall", but we who THINK we are standing firm should be careful not to fall.

I don't know for sure but, for a while now, I've been thinking what this verse speaks about is the danger of self-confidence. When we think we're too great, we're strong invincible trees planted in a sacred garden, we should be careful cause that is not quite true. We are humans and full of flaws - we are not as strong as we think. Get sick and check it out! hehe. I mean, don't, but if you do (or did) you will/ can realize how powerless you are...

No matter if we got converted or not, we are subject to failure, so we should rest in God and not in our own capabilities. Well, I wish I remembered this more frequently myself! Blessed be the name of the Lord! I hope what I'm putting down on this note is right but I welcome any comments!
