That I Might Preach...
Sometime the Holy Spirit will highlight only certain portions of text to deliver a message specifically to me. In this case, He highlighted: "For you have heard of my previous way of life...how intensely I persecuted the church of God...but when God who set me apart from my mother's womb & called me by His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me that I might preach... And they praised God because of me."
I rejoice at the possibility of others praising God because of something that I might say or do, not so that I can take any of the credit. No, this is exactly where the enemy sneaks in & tries to turn this into pride. The word that needs to be emphasized when reading the last sentence of this passage is GOD, not ME! ALL the glory goes to HIM for having taken me from basically being a persecutor of the church, setting me apart, & revealing His Son in me, so that I might humbly 'preach'!
