I'm just like the Israelites

Ok, so, I have just realized something in this chapter that I hadn't realized before. After reading these verses tonight in my worship I thought about how the Israelites complained and how they talked about going back to Egypt. Just reading out again made me just as upset as I was before.

(Check out http://bible.us/n/hUM Consequences for not trusting God to read my first post about this chapter).

I began thinking about what God had done for them and how that were forgetting that they were free and not slaves to hard task masters. They were taken from Egypt and led by God. They had so much to be thankful for but as soon as times got a little hard, they grumbled!

Then I began to think....how many times do WE grumble? How many times do we forget the blessings that we have? How many times do we praise God and then when things get hard or money gets low our we run out of food and the first thing that we do is doing God and complain?

I dont know about you but I am VERY guilty of committing those same crimes! There are times that I am ungrateful just like the Israelites. There are times that I'm living in the blessing....until something bad happens and then I begin doubting what God can do.

Does that sound like you?

In my morning devotional I read about giving my frustrations over to God. See, when we doubt and stress over our situations we begin taking the focus off of God. It's as if we are saying to God, "Thats ok God. I can handle my own situation! I dont need your help." How can God help us when we stress? That just means we dont believe that God has a way out for us....even if Plan A didn't work. God has MILLIONS of ways to figure out our tiny situations and we stress because we can't find one way to figure our all out. So sad.

So, my goal for the rest of 2012 is to trust God in my situations....whether good or bad. I'd rather Him handle my stress than keeping the stress. He already tells us to "cast our burdens on Him". Next time you feel you will complain like those Israelites....DONT.

God has been too good to leave us hanging. He knows what your going through. Just trust Him!

I dare you.
