God's New Plan: Jesus

As Jesus preached he changed the ways Jews were to worship God. Practices, such as fasting, were now questioned by Jesus, and it angered the Pharisees. What Jesus offered was liberating people from the Phaisees control. This statement about mixing old and new cloth is His way of saying that the Pharisees' inflexible structure will not work with God's new plan. Worshipping God without practicing the faith that Jesus instructed us to do will leave holes in our lives.

Unlike the Jews, Christians believe this:
Jesus is the Son of God; therefore, His teachings came from God.
Jesus sets moral standards; therefore, our values should not change even as time changes.
Because Jesus forgives our sins, He has the power to save us. We do not have to rely on strict traditions that cannot guarantee us a relationship with God.
