One and Only Son

The first time I really understood the gravity of this verse was at my cousins funeral. The pastor that gave the message quoted John 3:16 and looked at my Uncle and said " I'm not sure I would be able to give up my son to die for this world." And for the first time, having seen how the passing of my cousin affected my Uncle I thought wow...God gave up His ONE and ONLY son. That's an enormous sacrifice, that us humans, especially today would not be willing to do.
