- the world portrays the lie the grass is greener on other side
- this is why reality tv is so big
- this is an extension of what the Jewish leaders did 1000s of yrs ago in vs 15
- enemies joined forces In their image against Jesus
- it the same as what Adam and eve bought into the devil
- this world is in need of the Truth: Jesus
- you have to answer the question in your life Who is God?
- the real problem in these men's life is they hated Jesus
3 things from the text/overcoming the lies of the world
1. Always Speak and support the truth
- we do and support what we care about
- even the demons acknowledge Jesus but don't care about Him
- thats the difference. Not enough to say I believe. Your belief must turn into action
- we say we believe in Jesus but do we obey him daily in the simple stuff?
- we need to proclaim the resurrection daily
- this enables you to care more about Jesus than the world?
2. Never compromise the truth for worldly gain
- People around the world are being persecuted.
- would you be willing to do that?
- Jesus is always with us and can always see us
- while the disciples are giving up their lives the religious leaders are protecting their WAY of life.
- we face the same choice today? Does your WAY conflict with Jesus?
- we have to apply the power of the resurrection to our time talent and treasure
- our debt has been paid for eternity so God calls on on earth to give to his mission.
3. Come clean if you are currently living a lie
