I Got This!

Mark 4:38 (NLT)
Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, "Teacher, don't you care that we're going to drown?"

Sometimes I can be a big worry wart. I will stress myself out over the silliest things. Even though I have gotten better over the years, every now and then my faith will waiver and I panic. And at the end of the day, the thing that seemed so traumatic and gigantic wasn't that much of a big deal at all.

Why do so many believers in Christ worry during a storm? We panic and think that we are gonna get washed away by all the floods in our life. Yet Jesus is calm, cool, and collected the whole time. Even the disciples went through periods of doubt during bad times. Once, they were in a boat with Jesus and a storm hit. It was so bad, the men thought they were going to drown. Meanwhile, Jesus was chilling in the back asleep. He was only awakened by the cries of the disciples panicking. Jesus simply told the wind to be still and the storm was over. He then asked the 12 why they panicked. Where was their faith?

We should not be up in arms every time a storm hits. That doesn't mean you don't head for shelter. But it does mean that you shouldn't lose control or lose faith in God. He has your back in the midst of the storm. When you have faith in God, there is no storm that will shake you. As a matter of fact, you will sleep through the storm and you will wake up refreshed. Don't panic---God's got this.
