Not all delays are bad.

In verse 3, the Mary and Martha informed JESUS that their brother is ill. This is technically an invitation or a request for the LORD to come to their place and heal Lazarus. But in the following verse, the LORD intentionally stayed where he was staying for 2 more days.

In our lives today, we often cry out to GOD for our everyday needs. We ask for food, we ask for healing, we ask for jobs, we ask for everything and it is a good practice to ask the LORD all the things we need.

But there are also times that we get delays in getting our prayers. Well, maybe it's not yet the perfect time to get what we need, maybe it will not be good for us, or the LORD just intentionally delaying to answer our prayer so that when HE finally give us what we need, HE will be glorified.

JESUS said in verse 4 that the sickness will not lead to death, but it is for GOD's glory that GOD's SON will be glorified through it. The LORD knows all along what will happen to Lazarus, it will not lead to death HE said.

For JESUS, healing a sick man is as easy as raising the dead back to life. But HE let Lazarus died so that HE could perform a bigger, grander miracle for the people to see.

Are we praying for that dream job that we think will fulfill our dreams and let us pay our bills. Wait until the LORD give us a better one than we expect. Are we praying for healing and our sickness just keeps on getting worse, let us be patient and wait and allow the LORD to work on our sickness so that HIS power will be recognized. HIS name will be glorified.
