The heartbeat of Paul
Wow, this verse really sums up the heartbeat of Paul. I wish it were true off Christians today, Paul's willingness to sacrifice anything he may desire and exalt Christ, just overflows in this verse. Quite possibly there are things in your life that you need to count as rubbish as you are exalting them above Christ. I know there are things in my life. Your relationship with Christ should be the very center of your existence. Everything else should come secondary to Christ. Let's live it.
