When Living Sacrifices Smell Blood

Like animals at a slaughterhouse, or approaching the altar, we begin to stress out at the smell of blood from previous deaths. For us it is our blood, our memories of painful moments in our dedication to Christ. It could be times we've battled the flesh, won, or lost. Times when we've tried to live by faith, and the result was unfavorable. As believers we also smell the blood of Christ shed for us, under distress we could never fathom. But we can also remember that while enduring the shame of His sacrifice, He looked toward the joy that was before Him. So as living sacrifices approaching the altar, we can bear the stress by focusing on who we are offering to, rather than what we are giving up.
