Day 17 - Enemies Are Important!!!
17 Do not gloat when your enemies fall;
when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice,
26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. (Proverbs 24:17, 26 TNIV)
A lot of times we are happy when we see a enemy fall. Why are we happy? Maybe justice needed to be served? Or this person has sinned against you? Which ever one it is we have to pray for our enemies in the good times and the bad.
Have you ever gotten a honest answer and it just felt right. Well Solomon explains this feeling like a kiss on the lips.
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you. (Proverbs 25:21, 22 TNIV)
What a classic verse in the Bible! Bless your enemies and God will reward you.
