Acts 7 -- Will You Recognize or Reject the Lord?

Acts 7 is such an amazing event which occurred right after JEsus went back to heaven. We see Stephen facing those who would later kill him (he probably knew this was going to happen) and reminding them that it was their ancestors who consistently failed to recognize the Lord's anointed ones. In fact, he tells of all the times the Israelites rejected the saviors whom the Lord sent to free the people. Finally he wraps up by telling them they even killed the one true Savior Jesus! The lesson here is will you recognize the Lord or will you reject Him by how you live? Those who recognize and receive the Lord are those who will be set free from all bondage and receive the power to change things. Those who reject the Lord are those who will never be free and will always live only for their own desires. God is not fooled by our fancy words; He knows what is in our hearts and minds so it is pointless to pretend to follow God. We must make the decision each day to recognize who our Savior is and walk in that decision. I know that I need to make sure that I always recognize those who the Lord has sent and I do this by being close to Him. Stephen was able to tell what the Pharisees really wanted because he was in the presence of God. If you want to see the truth, spend time with God. Then you will have the same spirit as Stephen!
