Moses & the israelites at war in the desert
I love how this verse says, the Lord had sworn that HE will have war with the Amaleks every year.
God sent Joshua and a group of men to fight, but up on a mountain were Moses and Aaron with Hur fighting the REAL battle through prayer. Every time Moses lifted up his staff, the Israelites prevailed. But whenever he let his hands fall, the enemy prevailed. so when Moses got tired, Aaron and Hur lifted up his hands for him.
This speaks about the importance of UNITY & prayer.
this last verse shows that the battle wasn't theirs, but God's. our battles are not our battles, they're God's. The true victory wasn't determined by the action on the battlefield, but ontop of the mountain. Pray!!
