One of the most exciting revelations to arise out of the global prayer movement and developed so successfully by IHOP in Kansas City is the powerful synergy between worship music and intercession.
The concept was identified as clearly Biblical through a familiar passage in Revelation 5 where the saints are seen standing before the Throne of Heaven with a harp representing worship in one hand and a bowl representing intercession in the other.
Of special interest: the context of chapter five describes the governmental activity of Heaven where the Worthy Lamb receives from the Father, "sealed orders" outlining God's plan of redemption for mankind. Worship and intercession are clearly seen as the primary means by which the Church partners with God to see His "Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."
