2 Kings 5 -- Crying out for our Children's Lives
In 2 kings 5, we see a woman who had been blessed with a child from the Lord and her overwhelming work to have that child restored to life by Elisha. This woman called on Elisha to keep his promise of not getting her hopes up and she was able to receive her child back. There are so many things we can learn from this woman, but I want to specifically focus on her ability to lean on the promises of God because she dedicated the child to the Lord and her desire to restore her child to life. First, her child was raised from the dead because she was able to fall back on the Lord's promise, showing we must receive and live on a promise from the Lord. Only the promises of God can bring miracles because the Lord cannot go against Himself. Secondly, when her child died, she did not stay home and cry and feel bad, instead she went out to the prophet of God, Elisha, and did not leave until he healed her child. This is so amazing because how many parents would fight for their kids like this today? I am not talking about being physically dead, I am talking about being spiritually dead. We need to go out and find people who are anointed by the Lord and have them bring our families back to life spiritually. If you do not care enough to fight for them to be brought back to life spiritually, then you do not love them! I must ensure my son knows who he is called to be and who his real Father is! I must give him to the Lord and ensure I have a promise for his life from the Lord so that I can lean on. I must also receive verses for my people so that I can bring them back to life from the sucky, weak, selfish lives they are in.
