Using our chances
From this passage, we see a conflict. David implies that God set up the situation for him to get ahead of Saul but he did not take it.
What we see here is that David recognises God in everything that comes his way but he knows that precepts are to be applied in al of them.
That God allowed the situation does not exonerate us from our wrong decision.
