The meaning of the word hope is ' to wait for something to happen', or 'to expect something to happen' when we trust God we are able to hope that things will be good no master what, because of His faithfulness. and we can rely in the understanding that this usa true not because we know the future, bu because we know God, and we know He doesn't fail.
