2 Kings 6--15-17 Supernatural Eyesight
This is the second time I have seen how being close to a leader with the anointing of the Lord can enable you to see the things of God. In these verses Elisha's servant is able to see what Elisha sees, which are the armies of heaven defending them. Earlier in Kings, we see Elijah telling Elisha that if he can see Elijah being taken up into heaven, then Elisha will receive the blessing he seeks. So there are a few things I believe God is pointing out to me in these verses: don't walk in fear, be close to God's anointed, and to look up
Promise:
Being in relationship with God's anointed gives us God's vision. Being close with the Lord's leaders shows us how to walk without fear and finally, being close shows us how to look up and see the Lord's presence in our lives.
Command:
Submit yourself to God's anointed ones and be close to them. Be open to the teachings of your leader and be faithful to them.
Warning
Elisha's servant and Elisha would never have received the Lord's vision without first being close to their leaders. The vision was granted by their leaders because the Lord saw their faithfulness. Unfaithfulness to a leader will keep you blinded. Many of us like to think (me included) that we can be the next Moses or Abraham, but without a leader to impart God's vision into our lives, we will always remain blind.
Application I have to remain close to my leader so that I can upgrade my vision from natural to supernatural. I believe it has always been the Lord's idea to impart HIs vision into our lives by the leaders He anoints. If we can prove faithful following people, they we can prove we are ready to receive His anointing because the anointing of God comes with the requirement of submission.
