Happy Freedom Day!
So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free. (John 8:36 AMP)
As I celebrate, I will remember this: There is a freedom given by men that can be taken away by men, but there is another freedom which can never be taken away - that freedom given by Jesus.
After all, He was the one who fulfilled this:
The Sovereign LORD has filled Me with His Spirit.
He has chosen Me and sent Me
To bring good news to the poor,
To heal the broken-hearted,
To announce release to captives
And freedom to those in prison.

That freedom can only be given by the Savior, the Humble King, the Righteous One, the Lamb who was slain for us, and the Son of Man who was raised from the grave by the power of the Holy Spirit and ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father - and He's coming back soon to take us home.
