Why haven't you repaired the Temple?
The Temple is my responsibility. I must constantly build it up; Constantly work on making it a comfortable environment for God to dwell in.
If my relationship with God is broken, if sin managed to make its way into my life, if my priorities went out of wack...it is my responsibility to repair it. It is UP TO ME! I NEED IT!
The priests did not make necessary repairs to the temple for years when the king instructed to do so, even though they were the ones suffering the consequences, and attempting to serve in a damaged environment. King Joash became upset...just as we grieve the Holy Spirit when we do not obey His voice, his instruction to change, His guidance to make necessary repairs in our life to become wholesome.
God wants us to be whole. He wants to repair our brokenness. But we must take the first step, we must make amends with Him, we must come to Him and accept Him as our Savior. And it is up to us to CHOOSE to live in holiness. Each and every day.
