Deserving Of Praise

I am thinking of Super Bowl Rings, All Star Trophies, Olympic Gold Medals, Oscars etc. You get the point. The many ways that we reward and praise those considered to be the best of the best. We think of it and we strive for it whether it's the award for Salesman of the Year or the Grammy for the Best New Artist. We all want to recognized and praised for our hard work.
God wants to be praised for what he does as well. Unlike us however, God deserves praise because of WHO HE IS. So what does it mean to praise him? Did you say thank you for the meal he provided, with the money he provided, from the job he provided? What about thanks for shelter from the storms in the house he provided?
Too often I find myself complaining because I am eating the same things over and over again - how boring! I complain because I no longer "love" my kitchen and would like to change it. My house is just too small I need more room! Sound familiar? I am too busy complaining to give God what he deserves. I would be so angry if my kids or friends complained about something like that, but I have the audacity to do it to my heavenly father and then think everything is okay? God deserves the praise, and I am ashamed that I am undeserving of the right to praise him. He loves me and is faithful and I act like a spoiled child demanding more.
Father forgive me for my childish tantrums. You deserve so much more from me. Forgive me for forgetting that without you I am NOTHING and anything I have without you would be worthless.
