Loving God After He Answers Prayers
"I love you Lord! You answered my prayers."(CEV)
Do you only love God when he answers your prayers? Or would it better said, "Do you only love God when he answers your prayers your way?
God always answers - it may be Yes!, NO! or Yes but not yet!
How do you feel when God answers your prayers in an unexpected way?
Six years ago, I left a position with a company I had been with for 14 years to follow where I thought God was leading me. It's been six years of struggle and tears as God has been teaching me that it is in him that I need to look for security and significance. Not in a company position, not in a hefty paycheck. I won't lie and say it has not been hard, because it has. I have struggled with feelings of doubt ( about God, about myself, about where I thought He was leading) and I have cried and prayed and a felt really abandoned. As I type this, I have not found a job, my situation has not improved financially, but my trust and faith in my heavenly father has grown by leaps and bounds. I have come to know that while I don't always like his answer, he does as he does for my benefit. It's not always easy to see that in the midst of the trial but once God brings you through it, it's clear. God is teaching me to love him AS he is answering my prayers and to love him regardless of whether the answer is YES!, NO! or Not Yet.
