Set the Example

"I worship you, just as my mother did..."

Little eyes watch and see! I've learned as a mother that my children learn not just at school or church, they learn from me. And believe me it's not always what I say so much as what I do. Anyone who has a child will tell you the same thing. Then when they get to be a certain age, they do EVERYTHING differently than you - I think it's normal to rebel in certain ways it's their way of coming into their own.
Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a child in the way he should go and when they grow old, they won't depart from it.
But training is so much more than just telling someone something, you have to show it! On the job training is usually done with a new person, and a person who is experienced in the job. Sure you can read a book, and learn how to do it, but when you have an experienced trainer showing you the way, it makes the learning so much easier.
As parents we are to be the that OJT instructor. We can't teach, what we don't live. Set an example for your child so that when they are old, they will still be living it.
