Turning to God During the Struggles
Like a good parent disciplines their child, God know we turn back to Him during adversity. He was angry at Israel for being unfaithful and turned His wrath upon them. But He also knew she would then turn back to Him. Hosea's mercy to his unfaithful wife was parallel to God & Israel. God longed to take His people back into a loving relationship again.
God desires a purer love from us, following Him everyday - not just during the struggles.
