What we #value will lead us to action. What we value will pour forth into our daily lives. What do you value?
Sometimes, the road we are supposed to walk is long, hard, and frustrating in order to reach people with the Gospel.
The Gospel is for EVERYONE, and when we realize that, it opens our eyes to what we can #value and invest into. There are big things in our culture that we take for granted that are not a part of the rest of the world, what are you willing to sacrifice for what you #value?
1. You need to serve those you are trying to reach.
In our culture we are focused on what we can gain personally, how much greater is the opportunity when someone moves to the same place as those they are trying to reach. If you want to reach someone, you must first be eye to eye, shoulder to shoulder with them. People want to know that you care before they care what you know.
From the day that we are born, there is an innate desire within us to want to be served. So stepping out and serving others goes against our very nature and stands out to other people.
Jesus led us by first meeting their physical needs before stepping out and trying to meet their spiritual needs.
Our comfort should not be our primary desire when trying to reach the lost. Our daily allotment of grace from Jesus far outweighs the moments that He specifically asks us to move.
People know the difference when we are genuinely seeking their hearts and when we have ulterior motives.
2. Become one with those you're trying to reach.
Spending time, daily, with people is the best way to reach them. When someone knows you care about them, they will care about what you want them to know.
Things that can seem petty and insignificant to us, may be culturally significant around the globe. We MUST remember that is not our hearts that we are trying to reach. You don't know how you're going to impact someone's life until you go connect with them.
3. Share the Gospel, and Jesus will reach them
We are not called to the results of transforming someone's life, we are only called to be obedient and let Jesus transform lives.
cf Hebrew 11
The most powerful thing we can do is give our control over to Jesus and see what results He can accomplish through you.
