No One Can Fathom
I am amazed at how many times I act like I've got God "figured out." In my words I speak about how no one can really put God into a box, yet by many of my actions I prove myself to be hypocritical. I've found that in the ministry that I'm privileged to lead we do pretty much everything in a way we have figured out "works best in our context." All that really means is "This is what we are comfortable with because we have seen God show up this way before."
Here the psalmist says a simple statement that turns my "figured out-ness" on it's head. He says, "no one can fathom" our God!
Stop and read that statement out loud slowly...
No one can fathom our God...
No
One
Not you, not me, no one!
Today I must repent of making my indescribable God too simple to be in awe of. I'm sorry for not being constantly amazed by Him. I'm ashamed that I have made this unfathomable God a mere lowly routine...and that I've shown by my example that He is just our routine!
Lord, You truly are amazing. Restore my heart to your splendor today!!
