Beauty
Beauty - in our society today, looks mean EVERYTHING! Would you say that is true? We look at magazines where the models have been airbrushed. Meaning that every flaw has been taken away. We see the "beautiful" people who get ahead in jobs, and life based on how they look.
Many years ago, a woman size 14 was considered the "beautiful" standard. Today it's a size 0. If you are a 14, then you are obese. So we spend millions of dollars to get the right "look" and often spend millions more trying to feel good about ourselves, when we can't achieve it.
So when God says"A beautiful woman who acts foolishly is like a gold ring on the snout of a pig. (Proverbs 11: 22 CEV)I have to laugh. Beauty isn't the important thing. It's how we act. It's who we are.
I've met people to whom I was attracted to and wanted to be friends with, until they revealed themselves. True beauty is not worn on the outside no matter how many magazines it sells. True beauty is inside. Worry more about who you are and how you act than what you look like. And if it helps keep that picture of a gold ring on a pig nose in your mind. That looks pretty silly!
