King Manasseh Returns to God
In reading through the history of Israel when ruled by Kings, I am struck by ones who were faithful to God during their reign, and those who were "evil" during their reign.
For instance, King Hezekiah was mostly faithful to God during His reign, so Israel was blessed with riches & protected from enemies. So surely his children were raised knowing God. Then his son, King Manasseh, takes over & leads the people back to rejecting God & worshipping idols. An entire generation bowing down to idols and not following God. But they must have known better, because when King Manasseh is captured & taken in bondage, he pleads to God to save him. And He DOES! So they know better, but do it anyway, after witnessing generation after generation of God's miraculous blessings, victories, healing. We are a stubborn, rebellious people, but God is always there with mercy & kindness when we turn back to Him.
