Atonement in the old testament
I'm learning that sin doesn't disappear especially collective sin amongst a large group of people.. Since the Israelites as a whole were making atonement for their sins.. God gave them a scapegoat something that would bear the burden of their sins as a whole and then be taken to the wilderness perhaps to die with their sins rather than for them to die with their sins and face judgement...... Hmmmmmm kinda reminds me of a Guy I knew from the New Testament..
