Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. (1 Peter 4:12 NIV)

The Church started with 12 people. When they challenged the religion of worshiping Dianah they had to know that they were right with God. They had to challenge the established religion with love. Don't challenge those in sin through hatred.

Don't be surprised when those entangled with the sins of the world get mad with you. Be patient, be determined to show them the right example. Love them when they hate you and make fun of you.

If you feed the poor out of duty it is humanism. If you feed the poor out of a love for Jesus you are following His example.

How serious was Jesus when He told people to repent? He was serious enough to die for them! If our Savior was willing to die, then we should be able to hate the sin and love the sinner if we call ourselves His follower.

Some people aren't easy to love. It's a fact. That doesn't relieve you from the command to love others. If you put Jesus first in your life you will be able to love others as He did. You can't do this in your own power. You can't live like Jesus demands except that you put Him before everything else in your life.
