True Humility

Read this note in my Bible this morning and thought it was definitely worth sharing. I believe true humility can't be developed or learned, I think it has to simply be received from God through the acceptance of the Humble King as our Savior which is done through surrender and then exercised in faith. Hear the words of a Bible scholar as he writes about this passage:

"In someone who is being truly humbled, suffering will take place in silence (v. 28 let him sit and keep silent), with submission (v. 29 his mouth in the dust), and with surrender (v. 30 giving his cheek to the one who strikes him.)"

How desperately do we need more true humility in the life of Christians and in the Church today. May the Lord grant us this, and then send Revival!!!
