Give It Up
"...But God will be merciful if you confess your sins and give them up."
Confessing our sins is important, but what about the sins that you have to continually confess? I admit I have anger issues. Last night at service, one of the points the pastor made was that "shouting out" (killing others with our words) is so romanticized in society, that it is the norm. And I confess that when I get angry, I spew words and thoughts that no christian should have. So I confess - am I forgiven? Yes but the point is that God wants me to GIVE THEM UP - my sins. The struggle comes in determining how exactly that happens? I would love to say I have the answer but I don't and it's obvious that I need it. So today, I commit to give my right to anger to God. I can't do it but he can. I can't be all that He wants me to be and I can't be an example for my children, if I continue as I am. I can't do it, but he can through me, I have to "Give it Up" - CONTROL that is!
