Obey God Like the Recabites
God used a non-believing people as examples to the Israelites as a lesson on obedience. The Israelites rejected God's laws continuously. The Recabite people had obeyed their ancestors 100% by never drinking wine & living only in tents, never buying houses or lands.
I have often thought this same thing during the hot summer months when I see young men out riding bicycles in black pants & long sleeved white shirts. Or growing up when the Jehova Witnesses would come knocking on our door (theywould shake hands and part ways with my dad an hour later after Dad got his bible out to refute their false doctrine). These people practice their faith in false doctrines passionately and should put many Christians to shame.
Oh that we would be passionate about our beliefs like the Recabites! Our God is real! He is the Creator and the One true God. He certainly is far more worthy of our faithfulness than Joseph Smith, Buddah, or mother earth.
