What amazes me regarding all the passages I picked this day is that many of us travel through life as we have done nothing wrong.
It seems as we take God's love and grace for granted, yet every day, we sin.
Here we can see the Psalmist finally realize what he did wrong as he went to the Lord seeking His forgiveness. Did he have a wake up call? Maybe or maybe he was guilt ridden to the point that he fell on his needs seeking the Lord.
Like i said above, many of take God for granted and if you look inside yourself you will know what I am saying is true. I am one and I got a wake up call.
Yes, just like every one else I am a flawed person, probably more than others.
God honor with some wealth, but I did not honor Him back. Like Job said, "God gives and He takes away."
Yes I know Job did not deserve what happen to him you may say, but all in all, during His crisis, he never lost his integrity.
But than we can look at David, a man after God's own heart! His life story is a true example of many of our life. He took God for granted and fail into the devils snare and for what? Another man's wife.
Though being warned that she was married, his lust and sexual appetite over ruled what he knew was true, stay away, and he didn't.
Of course, David cannot take all the blame, Bathsheba was not innocent in this affair either.
David dug a hole for himself to cover up his sin, and the price? His integrity, and lost of a child.
But his cover up failed as we all know as Nathan sent by the Lord confronted him. That is when we see him turn it around and perhaps the words of Psalm 51 are his.
You see, we are no different that David at times. It seems as we forget that God knows all things and we just turn our backs on Him until we see our spiritual life deteriorating.
Yeah the wake up call! So if you are in a situation as such where you see things not happening in your life and you have something in your life or if you know of some brother or sister that has sinned. Confront it or them.
Because, though God will never leave or forsake you, because of what you may done wrong, He will turn His back on you.
Life without God is no life at all. David learn that lesson with unconfessed sin in his life.
So read and study the passages and confess, learn and grow.
Take what you have learned and do as verse 13 says, "Then I will teach transgressors Your way, and sinners will turn back to You."
Yes when we sin and God forgives us, go and tell other of God's love and that once you turn back to Him that He will take your sins and toss them out the window as far as the east is to the west remembering them no more.
Amen
