He's On The Case-Pastor Robinson
*Part C of this text is comforting because it reminds us that God won't let things happen to us.
-Other people might, but praise to be God that he is around.
*This portion also reminds us that God is not just there, but he is aware of what's going on in my life, things seen and unseen.
-He is aware of the dangers that I face in my daily life.
-God is also aware of that the world wants to go against His will.
-He is also aware of me: he knows my tendencies, my weaknesses, my thoughts, my triggers, what takes me off my game for the lord.
*The end of verse says that the Lord is willing to act on my behalf.
-Even if God allows evil to happen in our life, he is still acting intentionally in our life. He uses it to make us better.
*When God sees the threats to our lives, he jumps in and acts on our behalf.
*So what's the significance of the rod and staff?
-The rod symbolizes God weapons to combat our enemies.
-He doesn't need anyone or anything else to beat back our enemies.
-The staff symbolizes the fact that God will not let us wander too far from his flock.
-When we get too far, God will use his staff and hook us back to the flock.
*Having a good Shepard with a rod and staff is like having a big brother who is there to protect you.
*This text reminds us that God's top priority to always be on the case by making sure I am alive and in the flock.
*When the enemy tries to mess with us, God pulls out his rod and tells him to get back.
-And when I get a little weak and stray, God uses his staff and hooks me back where I need to be.
*God fights for me and to keep me!
