new, then renew...
everyone starts out with a pure heart. those beautiful innocent eyes of children that simply cannot lie. its precious. its priceless.
but something happens along the way, people grow up and sometimes end up not so innocent. not so pure. not so precious.
bible teaches us to guard our heart. guard our lives. stay away from white lies, and gossip. ignore all sideshow distractions and watch your step... but often its so easy to get distracted, to get sidetracked...and before you know it, you feel far away from god, disconnected, dirty...
its a daily decision to live in victory, to clean up our act and keep moving forward.
I like to think of it like a car- you control how much mess and trash u bring into the car. on the outside, u cannot control how dirty it gets, but u only control how often u clean it.
same with our lives, u control how much trash u bring inside of your heart and spirit (movies, magazines, wasting time...) however you will always, while living on the earth, be influenced by the world. and u control how often u remove all the dirt by renewing your mind by the word of god, by coming to the cross and leaving your old nature there daily.
