Arise and Shine - Pastor Ricky Thomaston - #youversion notes

Jesus is not coming back for less than what He started. God has always used individuals to show His glory.

Noah built an ark without any knowledge of how to do it.

Abraham was chosen by God to found His people.

Jesus came to live with us as one of us even though He was the Son of God. Jesus was not willing to sit by idly and watch man be eternally condemned.

The twelve disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until they were sent power from God. When the Holy Spirit fell on the disciples the Church was born.

Peter ran from a young girl during Jesus' trial. After the Holy Spirit fell on him he boldly spoke out on he day of Pentecost and moved the masses with just a few words.

Jesus presents the same opportunity to all who would dare to believe in Him. We have the ability to be more than what we see in ourselves. God gives a command and a promise to all who will hear.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.

Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
and your daughters are carried on the hip.

Then you will look and be radiant,
your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (Isaiah 60:1-5 NIV)

When you live for Jesus the world will see His light shining through you. Would your family miss you if you were gone? Would your prayer life and example be missed?

There are many people in the world who look to Jesus followers when their lives unravel an they have no hope. Even though they will not accept Jesus gift they know He is the answer.

Live the life Jesus has called you to live without fear, without apology, without hesitation. Live your life for Jesus so that others can be blessed though you. If you follow the example of your Master you will spend your life serving others.

Trust God. He always has your best interest at heart.

Be faithful in your commitment to Him.

Be obedient to His command, no matter what you've done, where you've been or what you think you're capable to do.
