Is Your Faith Dead or Alive?

Let me ask you a question. If I tell you all day long Sunday, that I will make & pack your lunch on Monday & when Monday comes I fail to do that. How do you feel? What do you think of my words? Ok, maybe you think I forgot , so you say something to me about it. I apologize & seem very remorseful! I promise to make it up to you by making a special lunch for you on Tuesday! Tuesday morning you jump out of bed thinking about that great lunch that I'm packing for you! You dress, have some pep in your step, rush to the kitchen to grab your lunch, & it's not there & I am no where to be found!
At this point, will you believe me if I tell you that I'm sorry (again), & will pack a lunch for you Wednesday? Not likely. Why? Because my actions & my words don't match up. I can say that I love you all day long, but if I don't show you that I love you with my actions, even small actions, you won't believe me! Faith is the same. I can say that I have faith in God to provide for me. However; if I fall apart when I am in need, then my actions say I don't have faith that God will provide for me. But, if I say I have faith that He will provide & I move through each day as though that need is already taken care of, smiling, knowing in my heart that I don't have to worry or cry about it; then my actions are proving my words to be true.
Saying that I have faith means nothing. If my actions don't line up with the faith I am professing, then my faith is dead! There's no life in it; it's empty! That means nothing to God. Abraham had faith in God when he was told to tie his only son to an altar & sacrifice him to God. He did it! At the last moment, God stopped him & provided a ram for the sacrifice! Now that's faith with life in it!!! God saw Abrahams faith IN ACTION!! You cannot have faith without action! Faith is acting on your trust, belief, knowledge that what is not, will be. Did you get that? Faith is doing!! Let's not confuse faith with a lack of nervousness, human fear, or some human doubt! I'm certain when Jesus told Peter to step out of the boat & walk on the water to Him, that Peters knees were knocking, his hands were shaking & his poor little heart was about to beat out of his chest!!! BUT, he stepped OUT OF THAT BOAT (terrified) because he had faith in Jesus! That faith caused, was responsible for , his ACTION! Even when he began to sink, his faith caused him to call to Jesus to help him because he had faith that Jesus would help him! Man, this is good!!!
Bottom line is, there is no faith without action. Sort of like there is no life without breath. They go hand in hand, or it doesn't exist; it's dead!
Where is your faith, today? Do you need a coffin to lay it in? If so, let's tell the father to forgive us & ask Him to breathe life into your faith & begin DOING , in His Name , and watch your faith grow as Christ fills your faith with action!
Lord, forgive me if I have allowed my faith to lie dead without any life! Please, Father, breathe life (action) into my faith! Strengthen me so that even tho my human body shakes, & feels afraid, I will show my faith with my actions!!
