I wonder if they really believed that it would fade away. Like it was some sort of phase.. because of how forceful they were and threatened the men from the beginning they must of felt it was real and maybe perhaps feared it and maybe even was threatened by witnesses spreading the word of the Holy Spirit and of Jesus....?
