Differences in Party Platforms for 2012 Elections (Rev. Dr. E. Wayne Hanks, Pastor)

These are not political issues. They are Biblical issues we will discuss.

Republican platform -
1) recognition of pre-natal life, no federal funding of abortion
2) one-man, one-woman marriage support, support of DOMA

Democrat platform -
1) plainly supports abortion rights
2) same-sex rights support, repeal of DOMA

God's platform -
1) won't detail, but God clearly addresses protection of the weak and life in the womb.

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:18-32 NLT)

Wrath of abandonment - God "gives them over" to their desires, taking away His hand of protection (vv 24, 26 & 28). All mankind has the law

We are on the threshold of abandonment, as a society. What happens when God abandoned a society?

1) v 24, Lust of impurity (sexual sin) - Pornographic society
2) v 26, Degrading passions (homosexuality) - Disease related to the same
3) v 28, Depraved mind (flipping right & wrong) - Murder of infants, haters of God

It is, therefore, quite shocking that one of our political parties would adopt measures so clearly spoken against in scripture. What God condemns, they affirm. 72 million Americans are registered with this party, but many, who are Bible-believing Christians, may want to rethink their positions.

Again, this is not politics, it is the Word of God. It is not hateful speech to point out for one the error of their path, and the way of salvation.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NLT)

Homosexuality, effeminate behavior, etc, are not genetically coded, else Paul wouldn't have indicated, "Some of you were once like that." The cleansing power of God makes us holy and makes us right with God.

Dallas Police Department will tell you, active homosexuals average 500 partners in a lifetime. Anecdote of former minister who abandoned faith for that lifestyle, whose funeral Pastor was able to conduct after he returned to faith shortly before death by AIDS.

1 Samuel 17:29

And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29 NKJV)

"Is there not a cause," for us to be involved.
