Learning To Be Content
Oftentimes, we as humans are never satisfied with what we have. We see someone with something we want or desire, and we become very ungrateful. We take our minds off of what God has blessed us with, even if it's our basic needs and we become envious and jealous of the other because they possess something we desire for ourselves. In Philippians 4, Paul describes how he learned to be content with what he has.
As I was walking home from the store yesterday, I saw people driving by in their cars and a thought came to my mind. "If only I had a car", then I began to realize that I have legs to walk and there are those who can't even walk or don't have legs to walk and my if only turned into a thank you Lord, then I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me and say, "Remember all these things will pass away, but the word of God will remain". I then realized that no, I don't have this or that, but that material stuff is gonna pass away anyway and I'm grateful that I have the very WORD OF GOD inside of me, something that will always remain for eternity; something that is everlasting and that will endure through the thick and thin. I'm so content with what God has given me-a home, three beautiful girls, an awesome church family, etc., but the greatest of what I have is God's love and His glorious, life-giving word in my heart. I could never ask for more! #learning to be content
