Tempted by God?
Nope doesn't happen. Does God allow the devil to tempt us? Yep that's the test. The devil knows what we like and what will snare us and of course that is exactly what he uses. One of the things taught in the military, is that if you know your enemy, then you can make judgements based on their previous behavior. That's what the devil does to us. But God gives us everything we need to turn it around on him. We don't fight that battle or at least we don't have to by ourselves. And you can bet God knows his enemy. The partial truths, the sneaky lies. So how do you combat it. You don't! You remove yourself. Well that's easier said than done isn't it? One thing we have to do is take a long look in the mirror at ourselves. We are often tempted by things that we refuse to admit are a problem. We also fall because we are overly confident in our ability to defeat this enemy - on our own.
As a married person, you can't cheat, if you are never alone with someone of the opposite sex. Guard yourself. As someone I once knew stated. "You will never do the wrong thing, if you are not in the wrong place at the wrong time" We are trapped and tempted by our own actions. If I am on a diet, I can't eat chocolate cake at 3 am if it isn't in my house. Remove the things that cause you to stumble and replace it with things that lift you up. Accept the truth that it is you and the enemy not God that temps us.
