God calls us to be what He has defined us to be. We cannot chase worldly things and God. Jesus did not die on a cross so we could straddle the fence.
Worldliness defined: when sin seems normal and righteousness seems strange.
If it seems strange to teach your family to pray or study scripture in your home it is worldliness. If gossip and slander are part of every day conversations it is worldliness. If flirting with others seems like no big deal, it is worldliness.
Worldliness begins when you stop reading the Word of God and you start neglecting your prayer time.
When you start forming your view of the world based on what the world is saying you are becoming worldly. The effect is similar to anesthesia. It either makes you numb or puts you to sleep.
Jesus calls us to live our lives fully awake. Don't let the world put you to sleep. Don't be lulled or lured into an elicit affair with something that can never compare to the life our Savior Jesus Christ offers.
Wake up! See the world through God's eyes and follow Him.
